CATOOSA, Oklahoma – Cherokee Casino is partnering with the American Red
Cross to host a community blood drive from 2 p.m. – 7 p.m. on May 20.
“This will be our third blood drive this year at Cherokee Casino Resort, and we’re looking forward to a great turnout. Our guests are very generous at donating blood, and we’re happy to provide a convenient place for them to do so,” said David Stewart, CEO of Cherokee Nation Enterprises, which operates Cherokee Casinos. The Red Cross needs everyone’s support during the summer months, which typically are slower months for the humanitarian organization. Fewer than 8 percent of the healthy, eligible citizens in the United States who can donate actually do, and there is a constant need for blood. All those who donate in May at an American Red Cross blood drive will receive a music-inspired T-shirt during the organization’s “And the Beat Goes On” campaign. “So come on out, roll up a sleeve and give blood. Afterwards, you will feel like a star, no matter what kind of music you enjoy. Together we can help make sure the beat goes on for those who will need life-saving blood,” said Sheila Hanner, donor recruitment director, Oklahoma region. The blood drive is taking place in the salons located on the second floor of Cherokee Casino Resort. To donate blood, you must be at least 17 years of age, weigh 110 pounds, be in good health and have a picture I.D. available. For more information about donating at Cherokee Casino Resort, contact; Terry Lambert, phone: 918-384-7923 or email: terry.lambert@cnent.com. |
