KENWOOD, Oklahoma — The Cherokee Nation will accept applications
beginning on July 6 for qualified Native American families to get on a
waiting list for current and future re-inventoried homes in the Kenwood
area. The first 25 complete applications will be accepted.
This program, offered through Cherokee Nation Housing Services, provides home ownership opportunities for Native Americans. The head of the household or spouse must be a citizen of a federally recognized tribe and meet income guidelines and all other requirements of the program. Cherokee preference will apply. Housing Services staff will be available to distribute and accept applications on July 6, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kenwood Nutrition Center in Kenwood. Applicants may also request an application be mailed to them by calling 918-253-8315. Applications cannot be mailed prior to the opening date.
