TAHLEQUAH, Oklahoma - The Cherokee Nation will help celebrate Earth Day
on April 22 by holding a special community health fair at Sequoyah
Schools from 9 a.m. to noon. The event is being held to promote healthy
living and to showcase health services that the Cherokee Nation has to
offer.
“This should be an exciting event,” said Barbara Neal, Cherokee Nation
Health Educator. “Earth Day is an important time for all of us to
reflect on the planet we live on and start doing what we can to preserve
her.”
Along with the Cherokee Nation programs and other business displays,
there will also be mobile mammogram screenings, a blood drive and a
special weather show hosted by News on 6 Chief Meteorologist, Travis
Meyer. The weather show will be held during the last hour of the event,
from 11 a.m. to noon, weather permitting.
“We hope anyone interested in our Earth Day/health fair event will join
us for a great time,” said Neal. The event is free and open to the
public.
