TAHLEQUAH, OK — The Cherokee Nation will be hosting the 9th
annual Breast Cancer Survivor Dinner on Saturday, October 25,
from 4 - 6 p.m. in the Herb Rozell Ballroom at Northeastern State
University in Tahlequah.
Any breast cancer survivor and one guest may attend. The theme for the event is PinkHope. There is no cost to attend. “We do this event to honor all breast cancer survivors, both Native American survivors and non-Native American survivors,” said Angela Leach, Program Manager for Cherokee Nation Breast & Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program. The keynote speaker will be Marcella Morton, a community member from Westville who was awarded the 2007 Steps Hero national award by the Centers for Disease Control.
