TAHLEQUAH, OK - The Cherokee Nation will be offering members
of the community the chance to learn more about colon cancer with the
“Super Colon” on Friday, February 29, from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the
Tahlequah Armory Municipal Center, located at 100 N. Water Avenue.
The “Super Colon” is an inflatable, walk-through replica of a human colon designed to be an interactive educational tool to teach individuals about colorectal cancer. Visitors walking through the “Super Colon” will get an up-close look at healthy colon tissue, tissue with non-malignant colorectal disease, colorectal polyps and various stages of colorectal cancer. Visitors will also learn the importance of colorectal cancer screening, prevention tips, risk of developing colorectal cancer, symptoms and treatment options.
