TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA - The Cherokee Nation will offer an Introduction
to A+ course beginning on Tuesday, April 10 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at
the Business Office Technology Building located behind the W.W. Keeler
Tribal Complex in Tahlequah.
“The Cherokee Nation is proud to offer classes that will enhance our Cherokee citizens in the workforce,” said Chad Smith, Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation. “We feel that by offering programs that enhance the occupational opportunities of our citizens, we create stronger financial foundations for individuals to build upon, which in turn creates stronger and more self-sufficient communities.” The course will offer instruction in both the hardware and software areas of computer technology. Students will take part in hands-on training, which includes the breakdown of a computer while learning the integral parts related to the operation of a CPU. The Introduction to A+ is being offered as a prerequisite to the A+ Certification Course that will be offered later in the year. A+ certification is recognized as a standard of competency in microcomputer support. Upon completion of the course, students will have the level of understanding necessary to install, service and support microcomputers and peripherals. The Introduction to A+ course will meet every Tuesday and Thursday for 12 weeks. Books are provided at not cost. For more information contact Kelly Forrest, phone: 918-207-3956. |
