"Members of the SHS girls’ basketball team celebrate after winning their third straight class 3A state championship. " TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA – Sequoyah Schools has planned a victory celebration for the girls’ basketball team’s recent win in the class 3A state tournament and the boys’ team earning the runner-up spot. “We are so proud of both of our girls’ and boys’ basketball teams,” said Gina Stanley, Sequoyah superintendent. “We were very lucky to have both teams qualify for the state tournament and even luckier to have one team bring home a gold ball. We couldn’t be more pleased with their performances this year. We have a lot to celebrate.” The celebration for the basketball teams was originally scheduled for March 28 but has been postponed until April 13. This extra time will allow planing for an even more spectacular celebration event.
