TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA - The Native Tee Junior Golf Program is back in full swing this summer at the Cherokee Trails Golf Course in Tahlequah. Now in its third year, the popular program is free to kids ages 6 to 17 with proof of Cherokee citizenship.

Participants get free professional instruction and the opportunity to play rounds of golf. The instructional sessions are held each Tuesday in June through July 31, with the exception of the July 4 holiday. There will be two 45-minute sessions each morning with sessions starting at 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Participation is limited and juniors must register in advance. Loaner clubs are provided for those without their own set.

Junior golfers at all skill levels also have the opportunity to participate in the free Summer Play Days, which are every Monday in June through August 13, with the exception of the July 4 holiday. Juniors must sign-up in advance for tee times, and golfers between 6 and 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

To enroll in Summer Play Days or the Native Tee Junior Golf Program, participants must provide proof of Cherokee citizenship. To register, please call the Cherokee Trails pro golf shop, phone: 918-458-4294. Registration is ongoing.
