TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA – The Cherokee Nation Food Distribution
Program will be available to qualified applicants on Thursday, February
22 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Claremore Exposition Center
and on Friday, February 23 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the
Nowata Primary Health Care Clinic.
The Cherokee Nation Food Distribution Program distributes nutritious foods to eligible Cherokee citizens and members of other federally recognized tribes who live within the boundaries of the Cherokee Nation. USDA packaged fruits, vegetables, juices, canned and frozen meats, cheese, canned and dried milk, cereals, flour, cornmeal, oil, and syrup are distributed monthly according to household size. Along with these packaged items, a choice of different types of fresh produce is available such as apples, grapefruit, oranges, carrots, onions, and potatoes.
