TAHLEQUAH, Oklahoma - Cherokee Nation is celebrating the holidays and would like to make the public aware of its holiday closings. Offices at the tribal complex in Tahlequah will be closed beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 14 and will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, December 17. The tribe’s health clinics will have varying closing times. Clinics located in Salina, Stilwell, Sallisaw and Jay will close at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 14 and reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, December 17. The Muskogee Health Clinic will close at 11:30 a.m. on December 14 and reopen for business at 8 a.m. on Monday, December 17. The Child Development Center at Tahlequah will close Friday, December 14, at 12:30 p.m. and will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, December 17. The Stilwell Child Development Center will close on December 14 at 11:30 a.m. and will reopen at 8 a.m. on December 17. Both centers will be closed all day December 21 through January 1 for training and holidays. The Cherokee Nation tag offices will be closed all day on December 14, except for the Tahlequah office, which will close at 11 a.m. on December 14. All tag offices will reopen for business at 8 a.m. on December 17. Tribal field offices and Literacy Centers located in Vinita, Catoosa, Pryor, Jay Stilwell and Sallisaw will close at 11 a.m. on December 14 and reopen at 8 a.m. on December 17. The Transitional Living Program office located at 507 S. College Court in Tahlequah will close on December 14 at noon and reopen at 8 a.m. on December 17. The Donated Foods tailgate site located at the White Oak School will be distributing at their regular hours of 10 a.m. to noon December 14, and Salina, Stilwell and Sallisaw Food Distribution Centers will close at 10:30 a.m. The Tahlequah Food Distribution Center will close at 11:30 a.m. on December 14 and will reopen at 8 a.m. on December 17. The tribe’s Family Assistance and Elder Services offices in Tahlequah will close on December 14 at 11 a.m. and the offices in Sallisaw, Jay, Stilwell and Locust Grove will close at 10 a.m. All offices will reopen at 8 a.m. on December 17. All Cherokee Nation offices, with the exception of emergency services, will be closed December 24 and 25 for Christmas, as well as January 1 for New Year’s Day.
