TAHLEQUAH, OK - Some bunny recently hid more than 200 Easter eggs in the grass in front of the Cherokee Nation Child Development Center (CDC).

"The kids really enjoyed it (hunting the eggs)," said Cindy McCully, family advocate at the Cherokee Nation CDC.
The bunny responsible for the eggs was actually Cherokee Nation staff members who work at the Cherokee Nation Childcare Resource Center (CCRC) that shares a building with the Cherokee Nation Child Development Center.
"The CCRC really came together," McCully said. "They donated all of the eggs and even stuck candy in them."
"Our staff just came up with idea because it’s Easter and its fun for the kids and fun for the staff too," said Rhonda Hooper, receptionist at the CCRC.
"I like the eggs," said Cara Hawzipta, 3-year old student at CDC. "They had candy in them." All of the center’s children, ages 6 weeks to 4 years, participated in the Easter egg hunt.
"Everybody was real helpful," Hooper said of the CCRC staff. "We will probably do it again next year."
The Cherokee Nation Childcare Resource Center (CCRC) works with parents, child care providers, businesses, and community organizations to promote the availability of quality child care services in the area. CCRC provides parents with child care referrals and information on evaluating quality child care and provides child care providers with access to training and support services.
