SALLISAW, OKLAHOMA – Cherokee Nation voters living in Sequoyah County are invited to attend a public meeting addressing election law reform on Friday, June 25, at 6 p.m. at Carl Albert Junior College. All voters are invited to offer input and ideas on the reform of the Cherokee Nation election law.

“This is a chance for all citizens to bring their suggestions about how Cherokee Nation elections should be run,” said Chad Smith, Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation. “The Cherokee Nation Tribal Council is hosting these meetings to gather information before making changes, if any, to the current election law.”

The meeting will be hosted by Phyllis Yargee, who represents Sequoyah County on the Cherokee Nation Tribal Council. Refreshments will be served.
