CATOOSA, OKLAHOMA - Cherokee Casino wants to make sure no one goes hungry as the weather cools and holidays approach. Cherokee Casino, located at I-44 and 193rd E. Avenue, is sponsoring a food drive to help needy families this fall. From November 5-14, every time a customer brings in a can of food to Catoosa Cherokee Casino they receive an entry form for a drawing worth $100 in casino cash prizes. The drawing takes place on Nov. 14 at 8 p.m. Customers must be present to win.Donated canned food goes to the Catoosa Fire Department Auxiliary. They will make baskets and purchase turkeys to go along with the items that are donated to Catoosa/Tulsa community area. You may sign up at one of these locations: Mike Frazier at Catoosa Fire Department or Tammy Frazier with the Catoosa Fire Department Auxiliary at 266-6777.
Cherokee Casino is operated by Cherokee Nation Enterprises (CNE), a tribally owned corporation of the Cherokee Nation. CNE's income is paid to the Cherokee Nation in the form of a dividend. In the past year, CNE has paid more than $9 million in dividends to the Cherokee Nation. That money is used to help fund tribal health, education and housing programs.
CNE operates Cherokee Casinos, Cherokee Outpost Convenience stores, Cherokee retail tobacco shops, Cherokee Gift Shop and Cherokee Hills golf course in Catoosa. CNE employs more than 1,000 people throughout northeastern Oklahoma, including approximately 400 in Catoosa.
