Tahlequah, Oklahoma - The Volunteer Program at the Cherokee Heritage Center is continuing to recruit volunteers. The Cherokee Heritage Center invites individuals to make a unique contribution to Cherokee cultural and historical preservation. Volunteers are encouraged to choose the tasks and events that most appeal to them.Volunteer meetings are typically scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. The next meeting will be held Tuesday, January 14. Volunteers meet in the atrium of the Cherokee Heritage Center and discuss upcoming events. Currently volunteers and staff of the Cherokee Heritage Center are preparing for the opening of a new exhibit on February 1. The traveling exhibit is a national touring exhibit from the Atlanta History Center entitled Native Lands: Indians and Georgia.
