MUSKOGEE, OK - The Cherokee Nation is sponsoring an outreach meeting for area farmers, ranchers, landowners, tenants, and interested people at the Muskogee Fairgrounds, September 17 at 6:30 p.m."We will be discussing farm topics including programs available by a number of government agencies,” said Steve Swogger, agriculture liaison with the Cherokee Nation.
This meeting will begin with a free dinner at 6:30 p.m. and presentations will start at 7:00 p.m.
Robert Woods, agronomy specialist with the OSU Extension Service, will serve as guest speaker and will talk about weed control, fall fertilization, and stocking rates. Representatives from the Cherokee Nation Agriculture Office, The Oklahoma Landownders and Tenants Association, Farm Service Agency, and the Natural Resources Conservation Service will be on hand to answer questions.
The Muskogee fairgrounds are located at 1440 South Cherokee in Muskogee.
