TAHLEQUAH, OK - Several students at Sequoyah High School are organizing a revival at the Sequoyah High School Chapel. The revival will begin Sunday, November 17 and will continue nightly at 7:00 p.m. through Thursday, November 22."The students came up with the idea and I'm just helping them get it started," said Todd Dowty, who serves as the volunteer minister at the Sequoyah High School Chapel. "We are looking very forward to it. Good things are happening at the SHS Chapel."
"We just had an inspiration during one of our services and thought it would be a good for everyone to experience what we were feeling," said Yanasa Charcoal, SHS student who is organizing the revival.
The revival will feature a different guest speaker every night and their message will be geared toward the teen-age audience.
"We thought it would be good for people around here who can't go home to their own church," said Nikki Flynn, SHS student who is organizing the revival.
Nearly 140 of Sequoyah High School's students live on campus in the dorms, according to Tony Pivec, Sequoyah High School superintendent. The Sequoyah High School Chapel offers church services to these students on Wednesday and Sunday nights.
"I just hope that it will inspire everyone else as much as it has me and they will be able to trust in the Lord and believe in him as much as I do," Charcoal said.
"We'd like to have the whole chapel full," Flynn said. "I hope everyone who wants to come, will come. It's going to be a blast."
The public is invited to attend the revival at the Sequoyah High School Chapel. For more information, contact Sequoyah High School, phone: 918-456-0631.
