TAHLEQUAH, OK - The Cherokee Heritage Center is seeking entries for the 2002 Homecoming Art Show and Sale sponsored by Cherokee Casinos and the Oklahoma Arts Council. The art show will open on October 5, and will be displayed through December 31. Winners will receive $5,000 in prize money.Contestants who wish to compete in the show must be 17 years old and be a member of a federally recognized Cherokee Tribe. Artists must have been completed their artwork after October 1, 2001, with the exception for bronze castings, to allow casting no earlier than March 1, 2001.
Artists may submit up to three entries per category. Categories for the show include: Visual Arts - Paintings, Graphics, and Sculpture; Basketry; Jewelry, Metal-smithing and Beading; Pottery; Textiles; and Traditional Arts.
