At a recent Brown Bag social, Cherokee Nation employees made Valentines to be distributed to the elderly people who take part in our nutrition services program. What follows is a story concerning this event:

I just wanted to share some feedback I received from an elderly gentleman who takes advantage of the nutrition services the Cherokee Nation provides in the community of Kenwood. He mentioned that he didn't know if he would be getting any thing on Valentine's Day. But he pulled out a red Valentine from his pocket and I recognized it as one of the ones we made at the Brown Bag social.

It really touched my heart to think of how proud he was of his Valentine. And, then I thought of all the other elders who may have just gotten the one Valentine and if they were just as proud as my father was to get the one he got at the Kenwood nutrition site.

I just want to thank all those who participated in the Brown Bag lunch social and hope that next month when we have another brown bag social that there will be more employees to participate. There is no greater joy than to see the little things we do have such a wonderful impact on our people. May God richly bless all those who had any part in this activity.

Wa-Do
