We are going to be getting in to some more complex situations with the language. What I want you to do is buy a set of note cards and get a hold of a Cherokee syllabary chart. You can purchase one of these charts through are gift shop or maybe you will be able to find one on-line. This is large step in our learning process and we will use these cards in many ways. Essentially we are going to make flash cards. First of all, you will have to learn to write the Cherokee syllabary and get acquainted with the sounds. In each lesson I provide the formal pronunciation and you should be able to find the corresponding character. You will then write out the Cherokee syllabary on the front of your card. I do not want you to put any English with the Cherokee syllabary. You can write a small note in English on the back, but do not rely on it. We are going to have to start thinking more in Cherokee. You can then use these cards to re-enforce you learning when you get spare time or test your self with a partner. Secondly, when we get an adequate number of cards, we will arrange them into sentences. By doing this you will have a better understanding of how the language works. You should go back through all the lessons and start making cards with the words that I gave you. I will be sending you a lot more words so be prepared.
