Ha-gwa-du-li-ha Big Cove or Giduwah dialect Ha-gwa-du-li Conversational A-gwa-du-li-ha Giduwah dialect A-gwa-du-li Conversational I am going to give you some sentences using (Ha-gwa-du-li) along with a few Cherokee nouns. Play close attention to the sentence structure, the noun usually goes first in the sentence followed by the verb. I want milk. (Literal translation- milk I want.) U-nv-di ha-gwa-du-li I want bread. (Literal translation- bread I want.) Ga-du ha-gwa-du-li I want water. (Literal translation- water I want.) A-ma ha-gwa-du-li *Note do not pause in the middle as you a-ma. If you emphasize the (a) in (a-ma) the meaning changes to salt. If you see a colon (:) following a vowel, this indicates that you hold or lengthen the sound of the vowel. For example: I want salt. (Literal translation- salt I want.) A:ma ha-gwa-du-li FOR ALL SUBSCRIBERS TO THE CHEROKEE LESSONS I want to say (sgi) for your patience.
