I am not going to devote an entire lesson to numbers. What I would rather do is space it over several lessons. Today I am giving you the first five numbers and we will build on the rest over time. one so-gwo two ta-li Formal ta-l Conversational three tso-i Formal tso Conversational four nv-gi Formal nv-g Conversational five hi-s-gi Formal hi-s-g Conversational A simple word that I want you to learn is (e-li-s-di) which translates into maybe, perhaps or I guess. This is word that you will use when someone asks you a question and you are not fully positive. Your friend ask if you will take him some where. You really don't want to, but you say (e-li-s-di = I guess). Someone ask, "Is this you paper". You might say, (e-li-s-di = maybe) let me see it. Someone asks do you think he went home. You might answer (e-li-s-di = perhaps). Maybe, perhaps, maybe e-li-s-di Formal e-li-s-d Conversational Try to incorporate the following words into your vocabulary. *For new members-If you have just started receiving lessons you can go to http://www.listbot.com, click List Subscribers and enter your member information, click (View List Archives), click (Cherokee Language Lessons) and choose the back lesson that you need. .
